Group
Relamping & Lighting Maintenance
Group
Relamping and Cleaning
Group relamping is one of the most important aspects of lighting
maintenance. Relamping provides overall lower maintenance costs and
maintains higher light levels. Based on careful engineering, scheduled
group relamping involves calculating the average rated life and the
average output of the lamps in your fixtures.
While spot relamping is an alternative approach, it can be up to 5 times
more expensive than relamping on a regular basis, and it does not offer
the efficient utilization of maintenance labor that is standard with
group relamping.
With group relamping, all
lamps of a certain life expectancy are replaced at a scheduled time.
This method is actually the most effective and lease expensive approach.
This procedure often includes the repairing or replacement of defective
parts in the fixtures such as sockets and ballasts. It also includes
washing and cleaning the reflective surfaces and lenses with anti-static
cleaning supplies.
When performed
during off-peak hours, group relamping creates less inconvenience and
disruption. Your lighting maintenance is a budgeted, controlled and
predicted expense. By taking advantage of large quantity lamp discounts,
you can save on the unit price of the lamps, and group relamping ensures
that you reach the most footcandles for your energy dollar and that your
lighting costs always meet your lighting specifications.
Lighting
Maintenance
At MTI, we offer on-call service and scheduled inspections that
keep your system up and running at peak efficiency. With our R.A.M.P.
program, the service includes replacing failed lamps, ballasts and
defective sockets. The scheduled maintenance not only keeps your light
output at optimal levels, but also prevents untimely ballasts failures
or burn-outs. Scheduled fixture cleaning helps to substantially increase
the amount of light that reaches work areas.
In addition, planned lighting maintenance means you will eliminate
maintenance call distractions in office areas during working hours and
the need to order and store lamps, ballasts and fixtures. With R.A.M.P.,
you will actually eliminate the need to budget for maintenance costs
because it is included within your engineered lighting upgrade.
With MTI and a lighting management plan that satisfies your needs, you
no longer need to maintain costly maintenance inventories or manage
time-consuming service, we do it all for you!
